Lorraine Hodges ISTD DDE

Principal

Lorraine has been teaching for over 35 years in Harlow and the surrounding areas. Her vast experience in Ballet, Tap, Modern and National has given many students the opportunity to train as dancers from 18 months to adult!

Many students have gone on to vocational performing arts colleges and are having very successful dance careers.

Lorraine trained at The Arts Educational School in London where she gained her professional teaching qualifications.

Lorraine’s career started as a professional dancer. Her professional credits include pantomimes in the UK as well as being dance captain on various touring shows.

Lorraine founded Dance Scene to share her experience and knowledge of dance with everyone who comes through her doors from children to adults. One of Lorraine’s greatest achievements is her adult tap class that she has been running for 30 years and it’s still going strong!

Aimee Pettifer

Aimee has been passionate about dance for as long as she can remember! After graduating from Masters Performing Arts College in 2016, she performed on The X Factor, featured in various music videos for renowned choreographers, and took to the stage at numerous Children in Need events. Aimee later achieved her DDI qualification in ISTD Ballet, Tap, and Modern and has accumulated years of experience teaching a variety of dance styles. She loves sharing her knowledge and expertise, finding joy in helping others achieve and surpass their own expectations.

Millie Ball

Millie trained at Bird College where she graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Musical Theatre and Dance. Whilst in her training, she did many performances and became dance captain multiple times. She has always performed since a little girl and would dance in pantomimes and school productions every year. In 2024, she made her first professional debut in the dance industry and worked on a cruise ship for 6 months around the Mediterranean. Millie loves teaching for Dance Scene and it will always hold a special place in her heart as that is where she learnt to dance.

Tasha Duff

I’ve been coaching for over 10 years and grew up in gymnastics and cheerleading, competing in acro gymnastics and all-star cheer. Ive loved coaching since I started, and I’m passionate about helping athletes of all ages reach new skills and goals. I enjoy teaching, encouraging, and making progress with each student. My focus is on blending gymnastics with dance through acro tricks, tumbling, flexibility, and conditioning, and it’s so rewarding to see the growth and confidence in the athletes I work with!

Chelsea Mooney

We are delighted to introduce Chelsea, a fantastic addition to the Dance Scene faculty. A distinguished Scholar of the Royal Academy of Music, Chelsea holds a Masters degree in musical theatre and is also a graduate of Masters Performing Arts College. Chelsea focus' on teaching students how to use their body as a vessel to support their vocals and highlights the importance of acting through song. Her impressive professional experience includes collaborations with esteemed figures in the industry, such as Claude-Michel Schoenberg, Matt Lucas, and Imelda Staunton. With her extensive background in theater, TV, and film, Chelsea is passionate about sharing her knowledge and empowering our students with the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

Jenna Brandon

Jenna trained at Performers College across all disciplines dance, singing and acting, and has since gone on to work across stage, film, advertisement; both televised and e-commerce , music videos and has ventured into modelling. Jenna continues to develop and hone in on her craft as a performer by still consistently training with and working alongside some of the best in the industry. Jenna has been teaching children from 3 years all the way through to adults for the past 5 years. Jenna teaches all styles including Acro, but specialising in commercial. Her passion for teaching is clear to anyone who walks through her doors, her goal is to nurture and develop confidence in her students, whilst pushing them to their full capabilities.

Becky Gentry

Becky has attended stage schools and various dance schools since the age of 6 and, after finishing school at 16, went on to further her training with a 3 year intense Musical Theatre course at CPA Studios. Here, she worked under directors, choreographers and performers such as David Leighton, Damien Delaney, Edwina Cox, Flik Swan, Stephen Mear, Mark Smith and David Barber. Upon graduating at CPA Studios, Becky went on to focus mainly in the dance industry and has performed on stage, in film and TV, in Fringe theatre and in various music videos for popular artists such as Example, Pixie Lott, Tinchy Stryder and Matchbox Twenty. She has been cast as a dancer in various TV shows, such as ‘Misfits’ and films, such as, ‘The Boy With The Thorn In His Side’, ‘Between Two Worlds’, and Beautiful Devils’. Becky has written and produced, as well as performed in, fringe theatre shows such as ‘Borders’ which was part of the Lambco Fringe Festival. Becky has worked alongside the very talented Broadway and West End choreographer, Stephen Mear, to workshop ideas for the West End revival of the classic musical, ‘Crazy For You’. Becky has taught dance consistently throughout her career and loves having the chance to pass her skills and knowledge on to a new generation of dancers. ‘Behind every performer who believes in themselves, is a teacher who believed in them first!’

Harriet Hart

Harriet has been dancing since the age of 2 and a half at Mushroom Theatre Company, then she went onto to train at Dimensions which led her onto Masters Performing Arts. She has worked her way through the ISTD syllabus in modern, tap and ballet and is now doing her DDE for her modern and will go into doing tap. She graduated with a diploma in dance and musical theatre. Since graduating Harriet has worked for ‘Showelli entertainment’ and had the opportunity to travelling around Europe with Modball, hosting for Krept and Konan and Hugo Boss. She has also trained in aerial arts doing aerial, hoops and silks. She has been in a music video. Harriet looks forward to working with Dance Scene.
