Alex Outlaw

Alex began her singing training at the relatively late age of 16, but decided right away that this passion, paired with her love of drama, would dominate her life from then on.

Alex trained at the University of the West of England and quickly realised her talents were in teaching and passing on the love for Musical Theatre she has had throughout her life. Being brought up on a healthy diet of Musical Theatre films, as well as regular trips to see live theatre in the West End, Alex wanted to help others to understand, appreciate and enjoy this art form she has such enthusiasm for.

Alex has been teaching singing, drama and Musical Theatre for over 15 years in Hertfordshire and Essex, alongside performing in many productions, both locally and in Harrogate and Buxton, where she took part in the Gilbert and Sullivan festival for three years running.

Alex has enjoyed performing in many varied productions over her 17 year performance career, being fortunate enough to have played roles such as Crystal in Little Shop of Horrors, Julie Jordan in Carousel, Hodel in Fiddler on The Roof, Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar, Mabel in Pirates of Penzance, Sister Mary Patrick in Sister Act, Tessa in The Gondolliers and Laurey Williams in Oklahoma!

Alex is also a keen director, having directed Thoroughly Modern Millie and The Wizard of Oz, as well as many other smaller variety productions in the local area.

Alex is very excited to be joining the Dance Scene family and sharing her knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm with the students.
